Women's Crew Picks Up Varsity Four Win at Quinsigamond Regatta

Worcester, MA --- The WPI women's crew team competed at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Saturday afternoon, picking up a win from the varsity four boat of Nell Nassiff (Columbia, CT), Vicky Stutz (Trumbull, CT), Suzanna Kelley (Attleboro, MA), Mary Hesler (Glastonbury, CT) and Colyer Sigety (Tampa, FL). WPI earned the win in 19:05. Tufts was just behind, 11 seconds off the pace.
The women's second four of Emily Johnson (Gray, MA), Danielle Morabito (Monroe, CT), Katy Tongue (Westport, MA), Chelsea Miller (Zurich, Switzerland) and Kaleigh Tomkinson (Chester Springs, PA) finished 8th, while WPI's varsity eight team of Holly Fletcher (Dartmouth, MA), Bridget Stevens (Cropseyville, NY), Sarah Dinwoodie (East Greenwich, RI), Amy Loomis (Mahtomedi, MN), Caitlin Heindl (Bow, NH), Macauley Kenney (North Yarmouth, ME), Joan Keyes (Plymouth, MA), Simone Staley (Albany, NY) and Lauren Laboissonniere (Smithfield, RI) placed ninth in its race. The Crimson and Gray's novice eight finished 18th.
Women's Crew will be back in the water next weekend, when they will compete at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on October 18th and 19th.
