Novice Eight Helps Women's Crew Close Out Season with a Win
Camden, NJ --- Women’s Crew closed out their season at the ECAC Invitational over the weekend on the Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey. As a result of high winds and rough water conditions, most of the meet was cancelled. The Novice Eight were fortunate enough to row their morning heat and powered to a 7:31.1 finish to place first.

Women's Crew Outstanding at New England Championships
Worcester, MA --- WPI Women's Crew competed at the New England Rowing Championships on Saturday on Worcester's Lake Quinsigamond. WPI's Varsity Four of Katie Siering, Bridget Stevens, Steph Kavrakis, Simone Staley and Brianna Ledwith had a strong outing, taking home fourth (7:49.2) for the Crimson and Gray while the novice eight brought home a bronze medal.

Women's Crew Wins Sportsmanship Award; Ledwith Takes All-Academic Honors
Babson Park, MA --- The NEWMAC announced its 2009 Women’s Crew post-season award winners on Tuesday. WPI as a team received the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award, as voted by the conference’s student-athletes, while sophomore Brianna Ledwith was named to the NEWMAC All-Academic team, the only Engineer to be so honored this season.

Women's Crew Falls Just Short in Quest for Bernie Brown Cup
Worcester, MA --- Women’s Crew returned to the water on Sunday morning to compete against RIT, RPI, William Smith and Tufts. The Varsity Eight of Katie Siering, Bridget Stevens, Suzanna Kelley, Cate Simoneau, Steph Kavrakis, Victoria Stutz, Mary Hesler, Simone Staley and coxswain Brianna Ledwith placed third overall (6:59.97), while Tufts took home the Bernie Brown Cup versus Tufts. The Engineers fell just eight seconds short.
