WPI Wrestling Goes 2-2 at NECCWA Dual Meet Tournament

Bridgewater, MA --- The WPI Wrestling team split four matches on Sunday to earn 11th place finish at the NECCWA Dual Meet Tournament at Bridgewater State.  The Engineers are now 5-10 on the season.

WPI open the event with a 43-7 loss to Wesleyan. Larry Loomis (Plainfield, CT) notched a major decision at 174 pounds while Rowan Walsh (Wilmington, MA) picked up a victory at 141 pounds.  

The Engineers then took an impressive 39-6 decision over Trinity.  Pins were registered by Loomis and Josh Rodden (Sabina, OH) at 285 pounds while Carl Anderson (Billerica, MA), David Laramee (Rockland, MA) and Scott Guzman (Acton, ME) earned decisions at 125, 149 and 197 respectively. 

In the third match of the day, the Crimson and Gray dropped a tight 28-20 match to Plymouth State.  Adam Kreitman (Salem, NH) registered a pin at 184 pounds while Walsh and Loomis posted major decisions. 

The Engineers ended the day by defeating MIT 25-21.  Anderson gave WPI a major decision victory while Laramee won by injury default and Kreitman took home a victory by a decision. 

WPI hosts Plymouth State in a rematch on Wednesday at 6pm before traveling to the College of New Jersey for the NECCWA-Metro Challenge on Saturday.
