WPI Wrestling Splits a Pair of Matches at NECCWA-Metro Conference Dual Challange

Ewing, NJ --- The WPI wrestling team upset Hunter 19-18 at Saturday's NECCWA-Metro Conference Dual Challenge before falling 35-9  to nationally-ranked host College of New Jersey.

The difference in the Hunter match proved to be a major decision by Larry Loomis (Plainfield, CT) at 174 pounds,  Other WPI winners versus Hunter included Carl Anderson (Billerica, MA) at 125, Jeff Root (Milford, CT) at 133, Roman Walsh (Wilmington, MA) at 141, David Laramee (Rockland, MA) at 149 and Adam Kreitman (Salem, NH) at 184 pounds. 

In the loss to College of New Jersey, Loomis picked up his second win of the tournament while Scott Guzman (Acton, ME) won by forfeit at 197 pounds.

Wrestling travels to Coast Guard on Tuesday for a match beginning at 7pm.
