WPI Wrestler Carl Anderson ranked No. 1 in New England

Worcester, MA --- WPI sophomore Carl Anderson has been ranked as the number one wrestler in the 125 pound weight class by the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA). Anderson and Roger Williams senior Anthony Nicolichia (Hopatcong, NJ) also recieved votes as the only contender's out of New England in the latest d3wrestle.com individual rankings in the 125 pound weight class.
Anderson, a Billerica, MA native, posted a 9-2 record through his first two meets of the season. To start off the year Anderson went 5-0 at the Roger Williams Invitational and placed first in the 125 lb weight class. At the Oneonta Invitational, he was knocked off by the 125 lb champion in the semifinals and finished in fourth place with a 4-2 record. The Engineers finished 11th at the Roger Williams Invitational and 10th at Oneonta.
The wrestling team is back in action this Saturday when they travel to Norwich for their first dual meet of the season. The first whistle will sound at 1:30pm.
