Worcester, MA --- Freshman wrestler Rich Wingert (Hyde Park, MA) has been selected as the New England Wrestling Association Division III Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 11. At the WPI Super Quad meet over the weekend, Wingert won all four of his matches, two by pin, to help lead WPI to a 3-1 record at the event. The four wins boosted Wingert's overall record this season to 14-4, continuing an already impressive debut campaign with the Engineers.

WPI improved to 6-3 on the season and jumped up to #8 in the latest NEWA Division III Coaches Poll, released January 12. The Engineers will be back in action this Wednesday January 14 at 7pm against Rhode Island College at WPI's Alumni Gym.
