      <description>Wrestling's Alex Freilich and Women's Basketball's Baillie McNally were named WPI Athletes of the Week. Freilich posted three victories on Saturday en route to a third place finish at the NEWA Championship. McNally was instrumental in helping the Engineers down Clark on Wednesday evening in the NEWMAC tournament by sinking eight free throws in the final 1:06 of play.</description>

      <description>Middletown, CT --- Four WPI wrestlers competed Sunday at the NEWA Championships at Wesleyan and in the process earned All-New England honors for the Engineers.  Alex Freilich was third at 174 pounds, Tyler Tilbe placed fourth at 133, Mike Perruccio finished fifth at 141 and Zach Hartzell turning in a sixth place showing at 165.  As a team, WPI tallied 43 points to place 11th, just a half point behind tenth-place Southern Maine and a single point back of ninth place Williams.</description>

Sunday will feature former wrestling great and past head coach Lance Baden being inducted into the NEWA Hall of Fame and AD Dana Harmon being honored as the NEWA Administrator of the Year.</description>

WPI received a pin by Mike Perruccio at 141 pounds and decisions from Tom Lacroix and Alex Freilich at 165 and 174 respectively to account for its scoring on the day. The Engineers wrap up its dual meet season with a 4-12 mark and now turn their attention to the New England Wrestling Association Championships.</description>

      <description>Worcester, MA --- Alex Freilich continued his strong run in 2012 with a pair of victories in WPI&#x2019;s home tri-match Saturday with Southern Maine and Plymouth State.  Freilich recorded first period pins in a 34-13 victory over Plymouth State and a 30-15 loss to Southern Maine.  The Huskies of USM went 2-0 on the day by beating Plymouth State 40-9 in the first match of the day.  The junior, ranked second at 174 pounds in the latest New England rankings, improved to 12-3 on the season and remained undefeated in 2012.</description>

      <description>Oneonta, NY --- Brian Jennings, Mike Perruccio, Scott Carpenter and Joseph Szerszunowicz all reached the quarterfinals Saturday as the WPI wrestling team participated in the Red Dragon Invitational at Oneonta State.  The Engineers tallied 24 points at the event won by Cortland State. WPI wraps up the early season tournament portion of its schedule on Saturday, December 3rd with a trip to Gorham, Maine to participate in the Ted Reese Invitational hosted by Southern Maine.</description>

      <title>Wrestling Begins Golden Anniversary Season at Roger Williams Invitational</title>

      <description>Bristol, RI --- The WPI Wrestling team kicked off its 50th season on Saturday by competing in the Roger Williams Invitational.  The Engineers amassed 34 total points while Stevens took home the title at the 11-team event. Tyler Tilbe posted the most wins for the Crimson and Gray winning four matches Saturday.  The freshman notched two pins at 133 pounds to go along with a pair of 8-3 wins by decision.</description>
