WPI Athletic Hall of Fame Welcomes 27th Induction Class
Worcester, MA --- The WPI Athletic Department, Poly Club, and Hall of Fame Selection Committee is proud to welcome its 27th Class, the Class of 2009. The five newest members were inducted on Friday, October 30, 2009 as part of Homecoming Weekend. They inductees include: Kerri (Coleman) Oldmixon ‘03 - Track and Field; John Loonie ‘87 - Basketball; Larry Penoncello ‘66 - Basketball; Jonathan Pires ‘00 - Football and Garrett Trombi ‘95 - Wrestling.

Polin Elevated to Co-Head Wrestling Coach
Worcester, MA --- WPI Director of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Dana L. Harmon announced today that Rob Polin has been elevated to co-head wrestling coach. Polin joins former teammate Lance Baden at the helm of the Engineer program. Polin was a standout wrestler for Hall of Fame head coach Phil Grebinar in the late 1990's, earning a pair of All-New England honors WPI.

Coaching Legend Bobby Douglas to Host Wrestling Clinic at WPI
Worcester, MA --- Legendary Iowa State Wrestling Coach Bobby Douglas will be hosting a wrestling clinic at WPI on Sunday, October 25th. The clinic, presented by BrickHouse Wrestling & Fitness and in association with the WPI wrestling team and National Wrestling Hall of Fame - MA Chapter, will be held in Alumni Gym from 11am-2pm with a meet and greet scheduled for 10am.

Anderson, Howe and Guzman Tabbed All-New England at NEWA Championships
Springfield, MA --- Three WPI wrestlers picked up sixth place finishes at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Championships, and in the process earned All-New England honors. As a team, the Engineers collected 22 points and finished in 12th place at the two-day event, which concluded Sunday night at Springfield.
