Anderson and Howe Start Strong for Wreslting at Roger Williams
Bristol, RI --- The WPI wrestling team opened the 2009-2010 season on Saturday at the Roger Williams Invitational. The Crimson and Gray amassed 40 points to finish in 10th place at the 12-team event. The Engineers got a pair of strong performances from tri-captains Carl Anderson and Tyler Howe. Anderson won three of four matches, including a pin in just 32 seconds in his opening bout, to place second at 125 pounds.

WPI Athletic Hall of Fame Welcomes 27th Induction Class
Worcester, MA --- The WPI Athletic Department, Poly Club, and Hall of Fame Selection Committee is proud to welcome its 27th Class, the Class of 2009. The five newest members were inducted on Friday, October 30, 2009 as part of Homecoming Weekend. They inductees include: Kerri (Coleman) Oldmixon ‘03 - Track and Field; John Loonie ‘87 - Basketball; Larry Penoncello ‘66 - Basketball; Jonathan Pires ‘00 - Football and Garrett Trombi ‘95 - Wrestling.

Polin Elevated to Co-Head Wrestling Coach
Worcester, MA --- WPI Director of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Dana L. Harmon announced today that Rob Polin has been elevated to co-head wrestling coach. Polin joins former teammate Lance Baden at the helm of the Engineer program. Polin was a standout wrestler for Hall of Fame head coach Phil Grebinar in the late 1990's, earning a pair of All-New England honors WPI.
