Babson Park, MA ---  Freshman forward Kristen Garza was been selected NEWMAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week as she tallied five goals and two assists to help the Engineers win three of their first four matches.

Garza, a native of Kingston , MA , began her collegiate career by having a foot in all three goals (goal and two assists) during a 3-1 victory over Salve Regina.  Garza potted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-0 shutout over Wentworth before scoring both WPI goals in a thrilling 2-1 double overtime road win at Salem State .  Her goal with under three minutes remaining in the second overtime was her second game-winner of the young season.  

After four games, Garza is tied for the NEWMAC lead in goals scored (5) and game-winning goals (4).  The women's soccer team plays its next game on Tuesday versus cross-town rival Worcester State at 7pm
