WPI Volleyball Goes 1-2 at the Worcester City Tournament

Worcester, MA --- Junior libero Lauren Raswyck (Litchfield, NH) recorded 47 digs and seven service aces in nine games to earn Most Valuable Player honors as Assumption College swept through the Worcester City Volleyball Championship Saturday at the Laska Gym.
The Greyhounds have now won the last four titles (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006) (there was no tournament in 2004) and have won eight overall since 1988.
Assumption is now 6-0 on the season---the first-time in its history the team has has been 6-0 to start a season. They play at Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire University Tuesday, 7 p.m.
Raswyck, the Libero-of-the-Week in the Northeast-10 Conference last week, dominated action from her position as the Greyhounds won nine straight games in the tournament for the fourth straight time.
Also named to all-tournament team for the Greyhounds was freshman middle blocker Molly Shanahan (Chelmsford, MA) (16 kills, 18 digs, 7 service aces) and senior outside hitter Tess Wurm (New Bedford, MA) (24 kills, 16 service aces, 20 digs).
WPI will return to action on Tuesday when they open up NEWMAC action with a home match versus Wheaton at 7:45pm
