Framingham, MA -- The WPI volleyball had a strong day at the Framingham State Quad Meet as they defeated Framingham State 3-1 (30-22, 22-30, 30-25, 30-18) and Wentworth 3-2 (33-35, 30-27, 30-23, 27-30, 15-10) before finishing up the day with a tough 3-2 (26-30, 30-23, 18-30, 30-24, 15-3) loss to Newbury. The Engineers claimed the title based on a complicated tie-beaker.
Several players had great weekends including Jennifer Parker (Rochester, MA) with 123 aces and Yaralia Castillo (Methuen, MA) with 43 kills). Other strong performances included Katie Bomba (Chelmsford, MA) with 108 digs and Becca Holmberg (Madison, CT) with 28 kills and 4 total blocks.
Volleyball will travel across the city on Wednesday to face Clark in a key NEWMAC match.
