WPI Volleyball Sweeps Mitchell 3-0

New London , CT --- Outside hitter Becca Holmberg's (Madison, CT) 14 kills and seven digs paced WPI to a 3-0 victory over Mitchell in non-conference women's volleyball action on Saturday afternoon. The Engineers won by game scores 30-15, 30-13, and 30-20 and had an impressive .345 hitting percentage on the afternoon.
With the win, the Boynton Hillers improve to 8-12 while the Pequots slip to 1-12.
WPI was also led by outside hitter Kathryn Bomba (Chelmsford , MA) who tallied 14 digs and notched four aces. Sarah Artz (Spring Grove, IL) and Deanna Flaherty (Millbury, MA) added eight and five kills respectively while setter Nikki Croteau (Wilbraham, MA) registered 31 assists.
Both teams return to action on Tuesday evening at 7pm. The Engineers travel to South Hadley , MA to play Mount Holyoke in a key NEWMAC tilt while Mitchell takes on Becker at home.
