Bomba Paces WPI Past Pine Manor, 3-0

Worcester, MA --- Katie Bomba (Chelmsford, MA) served out the final seven points as WPI rallied from 24-22 down in game three to defeat visiting Pine Manor 3-0 in non-conference volleyball action on Thursday evening. The Engineers, who have now won four of their last five matches, took the contest by games scores of 30-26, 30-22, 30-24.

Becca Holmberg (Madison, CT) lead the Crimson and Gray attack with 13 kills and shared game-high digs honors with Bomba with 12. Kate Woodman (Fairfield, CT) chipped in with six kills and 12 digs while Nikki Croteau (Wilbraham, MA) handed out 25 assists to go along with 12 digs.

WPI enjoyed success at the net with Christina Grant (Mansfield, MA) registering three solo blocks. Bomba notched five of the Engineers 14 aces on the night.

Andrea Lavigne (Haverhill, MA) paced Pine Manor with 10 digs.

WPI is now 9-13 on the season while the Gators fall to 5-10.

After a weekend off, WPI returns to the court on Tuesday at 7pm with a key home NEWMAC match versus Smith. Pine Manor is back in action on Saturday, hosting Thomas at 2pm.
