Five WPI Women's Volleyball Teammates Selected to the NEWMAC All-Academic Team

Babson Park, MA --- Five out of the eleven members on the WPI women's volleyball team have been named to the 2007-08 NEWMAC All-Academic Team. The Engineers were tied with MIT for the second most student-athletes honored and were slightly edged out by Mount Holyoke (6).
Nikki Croteau (Wilbraham, MA), Christina Grant (Mansfield, MA), Becca Holmberg (Madison, CT), Emily Kreek (Walpole, NH) and Kate Woodman (Fairfield, CT) were the players honored representing WPI. Grant, Bomba and Woodman represented the Crimson and Gray last year while Woodman has now been selected for three staight seasons.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2007
spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her
institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire
season.
The NEWMAC consists of 10 highly selective institutions committed
to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast
Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke
College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College,
Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
