Worcester, MA --- WPI's Megan Murphy has been selected NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 1st.

Murphy won her second straight race when she took the title at the Tri-State Invitational in Rhode Island on Saturday. Murphy, a senior from Perkasie, PA, completed the 5K course in 19:33.01 to help WPI take its second consecutive team title.

The previous week, Murphy and WPI took home the titles at the Worcester City Championships. The Engineers will participate in an alumni event next weekend as part of Homecoming weekend before competing at the Western New England Invitational in Springfield on Saturday, October 14th.
