Williamstown, MA --- The WPI Men's Cross Country saw several new faces leading the way for the Engineers as they placed 26th at the ECAC Championships hosted by Williams. Freshman Peter Brown (Andover, MA) was WPI's top finisher as he placed 129th with his time of 29:14 as fellow freshman Chris Gabrielson (Westford, MA) finished second for WPI in 134th (29:17) place overall . Other finishers for WPI included Ben Roy (Buxton, ME) (163rd, 29:53), Eugene Douglas (Concord, NH) (169th, 29:57), Michael Ashman (Simsbury, CT) (173rd, 30:03), Jeremy Shaw (Hampton, NH) (175th, 30:08), and Paul Sullivan (Manchester, CT)(215th, 31:23).

Several new names dotted the headlines as WPI Women's Cross Country finished 28th at the ECAC Championships. Beth Hegarty (Springfield, MA) was WPI's top finisher as she corralled a 124th place finish with a time of 26:40 for the 6k course. Senior Kerri George (Raynham, MA) was on Hegarty's heels as she finished in 125th at 26:41. Other finishers for the Engineers included Katrina Tallarico (North Providence, RI) (157th, 27:35), Danielle Volpe (Chelmsford, MA) (189th, 28:53), Rachelle Horwitz (Holden, MA) (193rd, 28:56), Jess Blanchette (Fitchburg, MA) (222nd, 30:47), and Lisa Rosenfelder (New Ipswich, NH) (233rd, 33:54).

Both Cross Country teams compete next weekend at the NCAA Regionals at Springfield College.
