Springfield, MA -- The WPI Men's Cross Country team captured a 22nd place finish at the New England NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Springfield College at the Veterans Golf Course in Springfield. Paul Freitas (Walpole, MA) led the way for the Engineers completing the 8k course in 28:15.3 for a 117th place finish. Among 309 total runners on the men's side, Alex White (Washington, MI) finished 124th (28:28.8), Kevin Jillson (East Sandwich, MA) 134th (28:49.1), Chris McCann (Haverhill, MA) 144th (29:03.9), Nicholas Wirth (Mansfield, MA) 150th (29:13.8), and Isaiah Janzen (Sabetha, KS) 194th (30:09.5).

The WPI Women's Cross Country finished 18th of 48 teams (321 runners) at the New England NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Springfield College at Veterans Golf Course in Springfield. Amanda Learned (Hopkinton, MA) paced the Engineers as she ran the 6k course in 24:00.04 for a 64th place finish. Megan Murphy (Perkasie, PA) placed 79th (24:19.9), Meghan Woods (Hanover, MA) finished 81st (24:23.3), Marissa Gray, 154th (Stanley, NY) (26:19.5), Caitlin Wood (Fitchburg, MA) placed 195th (27:24.5), Catie Casey, 210th (Plymouth, MA) (27:53), and Jen Keating (Winchester, MA) finished 238th (28:45.1) to round out the pack for WPI.
