Worcester, MA --- Sophomore Chris Gabrielson (Westford, MA) has been selected as the NEWMAC Men's Runner of the Week after running to a second place finish (28:19) this past weekend as WPI its 14th straight Worcester City Championship.

Gabrielson's second place finish marks his highest career placing in any event. The Engineers had a solid contingent (30 pts) that had three of the top six and eight in the top fifteen in the 8k event which was held at Moore State Park in Paxton, MA. In the 41-year history of the event, WPI has won the City Meet 35 times.

The WPI Cross Country team will compete again at the Tri-States Invitational which will be held at the Community College of Rhode Island on Saturday at 10am.
