Northampton, MA --- Sophomore Chris Gabrielson (Westford, MA) was named to the NEWMAC all-conference team after helping WPI finish in fourth place at the NEWMAC Men’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon. Gabrielson placed 14th with a time 27:06 in an event that fielded seven teams and was hosted at Smith College.

Junior Kevin Jillson (East Sandwich, MA) came in 21st with a time of 27:21 while senior Chris McCann (Haverhill, MA, 27:39) finished 29th overall. Senior Pat Benson (Foxboro, MA, 27:56) crossed the line in 35th place while sophomore classmates Dan Duffty (Haverhill, MA, 28:10) and Peter Brown (Andover, MA, 28:13) finished three seconds apart in 43rd and 44th, respectively. Senior Isaiah Janzen (Sabetha, KS, 28:32) rounded out the top seven with a 47th place finish in the 8k event.

WPI will be back in action next Saturday at the ECAC Championships. The starting gun will sound at 11am.
