WPI Men's Cross County Finishes 17th at the ECAC Championships

Williamstown, MA --- The WPI cross country teams competed at the ECAC Championships held at Williams College on Saturday.  The men combined for a 17th place finish with host Williams taking first place. 

The Engineers beat out 20 teams at the meet and were led by sophomore Daniel Duffty (Haverhill, MA) who ran the eight kilometer course in 28:15.40 to take a 69th place finish.  Keith Flanders (Westford, MA) was WPI's second runner to complete the race, grabbing 88th place with his time of 28:47.0.  Freshman Mario Christiner (Zurich, NY) took home 97th while Michael Ashman (Weatogue, CT) (121st; 29:32.6), Todd Alexander (Foxboro, MA) (129th 27:37.1), Greg Kinneman (North Andover, MA) (153rd 30:23.5) and Lane Thornton (Richmond, VT) (180th 31:17.1) rounded out the top seven for the Crimson and Gray.

Freshman Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) was WPI's lone women's finisher.  She covered the six kilometer course in 28:54 to grab 198th place at the meet.   

WPI cross country prepares for the NCAA Regionals to be held at Connecticut College on Saturday beginning at 11am.
