WPI Mens Cross Country's Finishes 38th at All NE Championships

Boston, MA --- The WPI Men's Cross Country
squad placed 38th at the All Divisions New England Championships
Saturday at Boston's Franklin Park. The Engineers totaled
1051 points and tied with Division I Rhode Island. UMass
Lowell took home the team title with 93 points.
Leading the way for the Crimson and Gray was Dan
Duffty (Haverhill, MA), who finished in 155th place
(26:39). Classmate Peter Brown (Andover,
MA) was in 174th place in a time of 26:49 while junior
Lane Thornton (Richmond,VT) crossed the finish
line in 217th place (27:16).
Shane Ruddy (Seneca Falls, NY) turned in a fine
performance, notching a 251st place finish (27:50) while Todd
Alexander (Foxboro, MA) finished in a time of 27:58 (254th
place). Other WPI finishers in the varsity race included
Mario Christiner (Zurich, Switzerland) in 264th
place (28:17) and Mike Ashman (Weatogue, CT) in
273rd place (28:39).
Next Saturday the WPI Men's Cross Country team will be hosting its
annual Alumni Meet at Institute Park. Their next
intercollegiate meet is on Saturday, October 31st at the NEWMAC
Championships, which is hosted at Franklin Park by
Wellesley.
