Womens Cross Country Earns 38th Place at All-New England's

Boston, MA --- The WPI women's cross country team finished 38th
at the All Divisions New England Championships Saturday at Boston's
Franklin Park. The squad combined for 1,096 points. Brown
University took the team title with 130 points.
Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME) continued her impressive
freshman campaign, leading the team by placing 125th (19:45).
Stacey Rauen (San Gabriel, CA) finished in 190th
place (21:25), while Beth Hegarty (Springfield,
MA) was 241st (21:14).
The Crimson and Gray also had strong performances by Anne
Rocheleau (Shrewsbury, MA) (262nd place - 21:40),
Catherine Duffty (278th place - Haverhill, MA)
(22:06), Loribel Corpuz (Redondo Beach, CA) (301st
place - 23:07), and Danielle Volpe (Chelmsford,
MA) (309rd place - 23:34).
The Engineers plan to continue making strides as they host their
annual Alumni Meet at Institute Park next weekend. On Saturday,
October 31st, the women will compete at the NEWMAC Championships,
hosted by Wellesley at Franklin Park.
