Westwood, MA --- The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) will celebrate its 25-Year Anniversary during the 2022-23 academic year, the conference announced yesterday at the NEWMAC Annual Meetings.

The NEWMAC was established in 1998, when the former New England Women's 8 Conference (NEW 8) voted to begin sponsoring conference play and championships for men. At this time, the conference expanded its membership to include Springfield College and the United States Coast Guard Academy, while Emerson College became the 11th full-time member of the conference on July 1, 2013.

The NEWMAC currently is an association of 11 selective academic institutions that are committed to providing high quality competitive athletic opportunities for student-athletes within an educational and respectful environment that embodies the NCAA Division III philosophy.

"The history and traditions of our 11 distinct institutions are the foundations of this conference," expressed NEWMAC Executive Director Patrick B. Summers. "Through our diversity, our members have created an innovative and unique conference that champions academic and athletic excellence, while always staying true to the conference's mission, core values and the NCAA Division III philosophy. I am honored to have been a part of this conference the past 11 years and excited to celebrate 25 years of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and key moments in history during the 2022-2023 academic year."

The conference's 25-Year Celebration will highlight incredible and historical moments and individuals that have propelled the NEWMAC to become a preeminent Division III organization. Throughout the upcoming year, the conference will release Top Moments, highlight All-NEWMAC Anniversary Teams of student-athletes and coaches, release historical facts and figures about the last 25 years, and recognize members of the NEWMAC community that have provided service and leadership to the conference.

To kick-off the celebration, the NEWMAC has released a 25-Year Anniversary logo, created by Skye Dillon of Skye Design Studios, that highlights the conference's three core values of Excellence, Integrity and Respect

More information regarding the 25-Year Anniversary will be released throughout the summer and during the upcoming year. Fans and alumni should stay tuned and visit newmacsports.com or @newmacsports on Twitter and Instagram for the most up-to-date information.
