Rusty Eggen is now in his 17th year at WPI, serving as an Associate Athletic Director and the Sports Information Director.
Eggen oversees all aspects of athletic communications, including the official athletic website, social media and webcasts. In addition he is responsible for compliance, contest scheduling and event management for the program’s 20 varsity teams.
A 1996 graduate of Slippery Rock University, Eggen has also been actively involved in various NEWMAC, ECAC and NCAA committees and championships through the years.
Prior to his time at WPI, Eggen held similar positions at Fitchburg State for over six years, and prior to that at Bridgewater State. He got his start in college athletics serving as the MASCAC SID, a position he held for nearly a decade during his time working at Bridgewater and Fitchburg.
Eggen is married to Framingham State Associate Athletic Director Carey Eggen and currently resides in Worcester with sons Chase (15), Colby (12) and Caiden (5). He is actively involved in youth sports programs including Tris Speaker Little League, St. Joe’s Basketball and Main South American Legion Baseball in Worcester and lends a hand to the baseball, boys basketball and football programs at Wachusett Regional High School.
