Hand Compiles Multiple All-Region I Baseball Citations

WORCESTER --- WPI sophomore Jacob Hand (Niskayuna, NY) collected multiple All-New England baseball accolades announced by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) in accordance with the American Baseball Coaches (ABCA), in addition to D3baseball.com on Tuesday.

The sophomore was placed on the D3baseball.com All-Region I second team at shortstop and the regional coaches voted Hand on the NCAA Division III Region I All-Region second team at the utility spot. Earlier in May, Hand earned a spot as the lone Engineer on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference first team.

The Niskayuna, NY native led the Crimson and Gray in batting average (.351), on-base percentage (.475), slugging percentage (.691), runs scored (33), doubles (12), home runs (7) RBI (30), stolen bases (9) and finished third in hits (34).

Hand led the NEWMAC in slugging percentage and finished in the top-10 in on-base percentage (2nd), doubles (t-4th), home runs (t-5th), batting average (7th), and RBI (t-8th) through 29 games played for the Engineers that finished 16-18 including a seven-game winning streak after returning to New England.
