WORCESTER -- WPI Men's Basketball head coach Chris Bartley recently announced the addition of Riley Naclerio as the program's full-time assistant coach. Naclerio replaces Jeff Robinson, who was recently introduced as the Director of Operations for Men's Basketball at Division I Quinnipiac.
"Riley has some excellent tools to be an impactful member of our program and the WPI community, noted Bartley. "His experience working at St. Lawrence and Gettysburg have laid a strong foundation for him to build upon as a coach. His background as a successful frontcourt player and student at St. Lawrence meshed well with what we were looking for in this position. We expect him to help our current and future student-athletes develop on and off the court."
Naclerio comes to WPI after three years of college coaching experience. He spent the past year helping rebuild the Gettysburg (PA) program. The Bullets tallied their most wins and appeared in the Centennial Conference tournament for the first time since the 2015-16 season when they posted a 15-10 overall mark last winter.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to join Coach Bartley and the rest of the men's basketball coaching staff at WPI," remarked Naclerio. "I would like to thank Dana Harmon, the athletic department, and the entire WPI community for welcoming me to Worcester. I can't wait to work with our student-athletes to continue to build on the success that Coach Bartley has had here at WPI!"
The previous two years Naclerio was a graduate assistant at St. Lawrence where he spearheaded their recruiting efforts. Naclerio is the second all-time leading scorer in St. Lawrence history, and one of their top players all-time, collecting over 1,500 points and 700 rebounds in his career. He was a captain and all-region performer his final season.
