Shoer Bestowed as Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-America

IRCA All American Noah Shoer - WPI Men's Rowing 2022

Richmond, VA --- WPI men's rower Noah Shoer (Portsmouth, NH) has been selected as an All-America by the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA).  The graduate student was selected as a Division III All-America after the Engineers were selected and participated in the inaugural Division III IRA national championship.

In order to be named an All-America, rowers and coxswains must have met the following criteria: The student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules defined by their institution, the student must have raced in their team's varsity boat for the current spring racing season, the student-athlete must be nominated by their institution and the head coach of the student athlete's institution must be in good standing with the IRCA.

Nominated student-athletes are then selected by the IRCA Board of Directors to "1st team", "2nd team", or "Honorable Mention" based on the following criteria: Strength of finish of the institution's varsity boat, nomination rank within institution and Coach's comments, individual achievements, and erg score.

Shoer was a key component all spring for head coach Larry Noble's varsity eight.  With Shoer in the boat, the Crimson and Gray captured a pair of Cups - The Class of 2003 Cup and the McCarthy/McGee Cup - in April and propelled WPI to a selection for the first-ever Division III IRA National Championship.  At the two-day event on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey, Shoer powered the Engineers to a fourth place showing in Friday's placement race and a sixth place finish in Saturday's grand final.
