WORCESTER -- Senior Tyler Carlos (Prospect, CT) had a foot in both first half goals as Babson blanked WPI, 2-0, in a NEWMAC men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.

With the win, Babson improves to 8-6-2 on the year while the Engineers are now 10-5-2 on the season. Both teams now sport a 3-2-1 record in league play.

Carlos netted what proved to be the game-winner when he knocked home a pass, from junior Adam Villari (Lansdale, PA), into the lower left corner of the net at 7:45. Later in the frame, Carlos sent a cross to sophomore Dan McGuinness (Groton, MA) who gave Babson the 2-0 lead at 24:12.

Sophomore Brendan Nemes' (Kingston, MA) chance in the 58th minute was smothered by senior Stephen Donato (Morganville, NJ) to preserve the clean sheet.

Donato halted all four shots he faced while sophomore Connor Hoeckele (Granby, CT) stopped three for the Crimson and Gray.

The Boynton Hillers had a slim 10-7 edge in shots while Babson had the 5-4 advantage in shots on goal. Each team would earn a trio of corner kicks.

WPI senior Kurt Naugler (Westford, MA) accounted for half of the Engineers shots on goal while Nemes and sophomore Anthony Vigliotta (Beverly, MA) each chipped in with one.

Both teams step out of conference play for the final time this week as the Engineers host Anna Maria Tuesday at 4pm and Babson heads to Bridgewater State on Wednesday.
