Kent, Peruffo, Aubin Lead Women's Swimming and Diving Past Regis

Weston, MA --- The WPI Women's Swimming and Diving team picked up a 126-103 victory at Regis on Saturday afternoon, led by Sonja Kent (West Boylston, MA).

Kent placed first in the 50 free (27.29), the 100 free (58.63) and the 200 breast (2:40.71).

400 Medley Relay team  also came in first with a time of 4:32.70. The group included Heather Peruffo (Poughkeepsie, NY), Alana Aubin (Taunton, MA),Toni La Bella (Warwick, RI) and Jetta Garrity (Lynn, MA). Peruffo was another major contributor for the Crimson and Gray, winning the 100 Back (1:03.92) and 500 Free (5:41.07) and coming in second in the 200 fly (2:33.31). Aubin came in first in the 200 Free (2:06.86) and 400 IM (5:08.59). Garrity also came in second in 100 Breast (1:18.20). La Bella came in third in the 1000 Free (12:48.90).

Also putting in top times were Colleen Heckley (Tyngsboro, MA) in the 1000 Free (12:19.05), Taylor Briseno (Mansfield, MA) in the 200 fly (2:32.80) and Kelin Song (Providence, RI) in the 100 fly (1:04.38). Song also came in second in the 100 Back (1:08.23). Sam Sargalski (Windsor, Conn.) came in first in the 1 meter diving event with a score of 258.45.

The Engineers are back in the pool at the Worcester City Championships hosted by Holy Cross on Friday and Saturday, January 20th and 21st.
