Bauer and Day Headline Swimming & Diving Scholar All-America Scrolls
July 05, 2018WORCESTER – Led by Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) and Jenny Day (Chelmsford, MA), five members of the WPI swimming & diving program secured College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-America Team honors for their work in the pool and in the classroom. Additionally, both programs earned the CSCAA Scholar All-America Award for their respective combined GPAs. -
Bauer Repeats as Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III At-Large Honoree
June 12, 2018WORCESTER – WPI junior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III At-Large First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is the first WPI male student-athlete to earn a spot on a first team since Men’s Basketball’s Matt Carr in 2012. -
WPI Men Second, Women Third in NEWMAC President Cup Standings
June 04, 2018Westwood, MA --- For the third consecutive year WPI finished second in the Men’s NEWMAC Presidents Cup standings while the women placed third, as announced at the conference's annual meetings by WPI President Laurie Leshin along with NEWMAC President and WPI Director of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Dana L. Harmon. -
WPI Honors 11 Major Award Winners During Annual Athletic Banquet
May 31, 2018WORCESTER – The WPI athletic department recently honored all of its 20 varsity teams which encompasses over 600 student-athletes at its annual awards banquet. During the festivities, 11 student-athletes were presented with major awards. These accolades highlight some of the best varsity student-athletes at WPI who excel both in the classroom and in their respective sports. -
Swimming & Diving’s Day and Bauer Earn More Academic All-District At-Large Laurels
May 18, 2018WORCESTER – WPI swimming & diving senior Jenny Day (Chelmsford, MA) and junior Jack Bauer (Cumberland, RI) have been named to their respective Google Cloud Academic All-District® At-Large Team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. -
BOSTON GLOBE: For Jenny Day, swimming’s key lessons were mental ones
May 11, 2018Former Chelmsford High standout Jenny Day closed out her decorated WPI swimming career as the owner of 10 school records, seven individually and three as part of relay teams. Those records competing for WPI head coach Paul Bennett included marks in her favorite event, the 200-yard butterfly, as well as her least favorite, the mile freestyle race. Day will graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering May 12. -

NEWMAC Recognizes 31 Winter Student-Athletes for Work in the Classroom
February 13, 2018Westwood, MA --- Eleven WPI winter student-athletes garnered NEWMAC Academic All-Conference status for the third time as 20 more were also recognized for carrying a 3.5 GPA or better. Men’s Swimming & Diving totaled 13 selections, followed by Women’s Swimming & Diving with 12. Women’s Basketball featured four selections and Men’s Basketball netted a pair. -
