Pawlak and Kolb Deliver Victories for Women's Swimming and Diving at Coast Guard

WPI Women's Swimming and Diving 2021-2022

New London, CT --- The WPI women's swimming and diving team continued dual meet action this weekend with a Saturday dual in the pool against Coast Guard. The Cadets got the better of the Engineers 196-98 on Saturday afternoon.  

WPI was able to pick up two individual medals and a relay title in the meet with Katherine Pawlak (Westford, MA) picking up both of the team's first place finishes in the 50 Free with a time of 24.83 and 100 Free with a time of 54.97.  

Joining Pawlak on the podium in the 50 Free was Leah Kolb (Canton, MI) who finished second in 26.06. Kolb also took third in the 200 Back (2:15.30), second in the 100 Back (1:02.15) and was a part of the second place 400 Medley Relay team (4:10.07).  

Morgan Foltz (North Easton, MA) followed behind Kolb in the 100 Back with a time of 1:02.23, and finished just ahead of Kolb in the 200 Back with a time of 2:14.40 and was also a contributing factor to the 400 Medley Relay team. 

The squad wrapped up the meet with a first place finish in the 400 Free Relay as Keira Franz (Colorado Springs, CO), Kimberly Hazeltine (Stratham, NH), Monika Nowak (Longmeadow, MA), and Molly Sykes (Falmouth, MA) combined to touch the wall first in 3:49.99. 

WPI is back in the water on Friday, Nov. 12 with a dual meet at the Sports and Recreation Center against Southern Connecticut at 5pm.
