Geneva, OH --- Carley Dykstra (Andover, NJ) and Antoine Harris (Southington, CT) represented WPI on the first day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, at the SPIRE Institute.
After weather forced the pole vault to be delayed an hour, Dykstra tied for 12th with a final clearance of 12-3.5 on her second attempt. She needed a second chance at the opening height (11-5.75) and only needed one try to get above 11-11.75. Olivia McDaniel (Linfield) completed the 2019 sweep with a height of 13-05.25.
Harris finished 17th with a time of 22.27 in the third heat of the 200-meter dash. Indoor champion Corey Carter (Principia) ran away with the top time of the prelims with a 21.04.
Ryan Wittenberg (Bedford, NH) will be in heat three (lane six) for tomorrow's 800-meter run prelims. The first heat is slated for 4:15pm.
