Anderson and Pasquerelli Shine for Wrestling at NEWA-Metro Duals

Williamstown, MA --- Senior Carl Anderson (Billerica, MA) and freshman Joe Pasquerelli (Pittsfield, MA) combined for five wins for WPI as the Engineers completed in the NEWA-Metro Duals hosted by Williams on Saturday afternoon.  As a team, the Engineers had a tough day on the mats, falling to nationally-ranked College of New Jersey (42-3), NYU (38-9) and Hunter (43-11). 

Anderson went 3-0 on the day, win by decision versus his opponents from the College of New Jersey and NYU and by major decision against Hunter.  The senior, who is ranked fifth in New England, is now 23-5 this season.

Pasquerelli, a native of Western Mass, got his first career win by forfeit versus NYU before a pin just 1:11 into his match against Hunter.

WPI (2-16), returns home for a pair of matches next week.  The Engineers host longtime rival Coast Guard on Tuesday at 7pm before entertaining Bridgewater State Saturday at noon.  As a program, WPI is one win away from its 500th overall.
