Women's Rowing Takes Home Bronze at the Venerable Head of the Charles Regatta

Cambridge, MA --- For the second straight year, WPI women's rowing earned a bronze medal at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. The varsity eight finished in third place in the Collegiate Eights while the second varsity eight was 23rd overall. 

The varsity eight reached the finish line in a time of 16:53.028.  The race featured all the top six boats that raced in the grand final at the NCAA Championships on June.  Defending champion Bates won again Sunday (16:26.595) with Wellesley second (16:47.200), Hamilton fourth (16:47.200), Ithaca fifth (17:05.636) and Wesleyan 13th (17:27.518). 

The second varsity eight clocked a time of 17:58.588, defeating Division II Jefferson, Stockton, Division I Army and Conn College. 

The Crimson and Gray conclude the fall portion of its schedule on Saturday, October 26th competing on Lake Quinsigamond in the Quinsigamond Fall Rowing Festival.
