Westwood, MA --- The No. 3 WPI women's rowing varsity eight was selected as NEWMAC Boat of the Week for the week ending on April 3rd after resurging on Sunday afternoon to finish ahead in the grand final at the Jennifer McLaughlin Cup on Lake Quinsigamond.
The third-ranked Crimson and Gray battled back in the afternoon after falling in the heats to No. 9 Wesleyan by taking the afternoon grand final in the spring season opener. The Engineers crossed the buoys at 6:59.65 in the morning to finish right behind the Cardinals that clocked in at 6:57.7 before turning tides and recording the best time in the afternoon. The 6:55.88 time for WPI secured the finish 2.67 seconds ahead of the Cardinals, No. 11 Clark, and No. 7 Hamilton in the grand finals.

The Engineers are back at it next Saturday on Lake Quinsigamond, hosting Connecticut College, Simmons, University of Rochester, Williams that features the Barbara Donahue Cup.
