Worcester, MA --- Host WPI posted an impressive .476 hitting percentage en route to a 3-0 victory over non-conference opponent Pine Manor at Harrington Auditorium Thursday night. WPI, winners of 14 straight non-conference contests, improves to 15-3 on the season while the Gators drops to 1-10.

Five different WPI players shared game high honors with three kills including Kerrin Beovich (Seaford, NY), Bailey Sarber (Westerly, RI), and Belinda Nwagbara (Santa Rosa, CA) who each had three attacks in just three attempts. Becca Mattern (Vernon, CT) and Elyssa Dorenfeld (Reading, MA) also posted three kills.

As a team, the Engineers only committed two attack errors in 42 attempts. The Crimson and Gray also served an impressive 19 aces, including five by Alex Rangel (Weston, FL). Rangel combined with Kim Woodward (Clifton Park, NY) for 20 assists while sophomore Joan Porambo (Jim Thorpe, PA) shared game-high honors with six digs. 

Pine Manor was paced by sophomore Jennifer Gross (Coral Springs, FL) with five kills and six digs. Freshman Alie Johnston (Winnipeg, MB) contributed four digs and three assists. Susanna Turcios (Framingham, MA) also added four digs.

WPI takes the court again on Saturday as well as they visit Massachusetts Maritime for an 11am game.  Pine Manor also returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Vermont to take on Norwich at noon.
