Women’s Volleyball Tripped Up During Saturday Trek to Bowdoin

Brunswick, ME --- Bowdoin's Caroline Flaharty (Fort Myers, FL) led all student-athletes with 12 kills as the host Polar Bears defeated WPI, 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-23), Saturday in a non-conference match inside Morrell Gym.

With the win, the eighth-ranked team in the NEWVA coaches poll, improves to 12-6 while the Engineers dip to 12-9 on the season.

Cori Gray (Winter Park, FL) and Sophia Pahl (Cedarburg, WI) combined for 13 kills as Kate Kiser (Ingleside, IL) and Ella Haugen (Minneapolis, MN) handed out 20 and 18 assists, respectively. Emily King (Apple Valley, MN) accounted for 11 digs and Gray also totaled three solo blocks.

Amanda Wetmore (Hudson, NH) paced the Engineers with seven kills while Colleen Mullins (Andover, MA) and Sarah Kwatinetz (Seattle, WA) chipped in with six each. Catherine Reynolds (Concord, NH) delivered 23 of 26 helpers, and Kayleigh Campbell (Wilbraham, MA) led the Crimson and Gray with seven digs. Wetmore and Abbie Gilbert (Hopkinton, MA) each recorded a pair of solo blocks in the effort.

WPI hosts Wheaton Tuesday at 7pm while Bowdoin heads to Middlebury on Friday for a 7pm start.
