Hewey and Women's Cross Country Win Fourth Straight City Meet

Worcester, MA - The WPI women's cross country team won their fourth consecutive Worcester City Invitational on Saturday, coming in ahead of five other Worcester-area teams. 

The Engineers had five of the top ten finishers, led by WPI's own Vicky Hewey (Sanford, ME), who won the event for the third straight year, finishing with a time of 20:32. Amy Babeu (Groveland, MA) came in fourth place with a 21:36 finish.

They were followed by Maria Grandoni (Framingham, MA - 6th/21:42), Hannah McCallum (Lafayette, CO - 7th/21:42), Caitlin Rush (Nashua, NH - 10th/21:52), Jessica McKniff (Duxbury, MA - 17th/22:21), Emily Dudley (Woburn, MA - 18th/22:31) and Lauren Waring (Wilmington, MA - 19th/22:34).      

The Crimson and Gray will be back in action Saturday, October 8th at the All-New England Meet at Franklin Park.
