Moran Sparks Men's Cross Country to a 16th Place Performance at New England Regionals

Westfield, MA --- WPI men's cross country finished 16th out of 50 scoring teams Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III New England Regional hosted by Westfield State.  Middlebury took the top spot while Bowdoin and Bates rounded out the top three.  The race concluded the 2012 season for the Engineers, who bested their 21st place finish a season ago. 

Sophomore Ryan Moran (Pembroke, MA) paced the Engineers with a 40th place finish by posting a 25:51.80 time, while Andrew Zayac (Plymouth, MA) (88th  - 26:49.07) and Rob Hollinger (Averill Park, NY) (95th- 26:56.06) both posted top 100 finishes. 

Seniors Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, MA), Scott Burger (Huntington Station, NY) and Josh Brodin (Mansfield, MA) all crossed the finish line in the top 150. Francisco finished in 109th (27:13.22), Burger in 129th (27:30.45) and Brodin in 138th (27:40.55). 

Patrick Murphy (Danvers, MA) finished 154th out of 351 runners with a time of 27:56.61.
