Wellesley, MA --- Junior David Reynolds (Andover, NH) secured All-Conference accolades for the second time in his career in helping the WPI men's cross-country team finish second at the 2021 NEWMAC Championships hosted by Wellesley at Nehoiden Golf Club.
No. 4 MIT captured the team crown with 15 points. WPI, who is ranked No. 5 in the USTFCCA New England Regional Poll, posted 65 points for its seventh straight second-place finish. Babson (90 points) came in third and Springfield (97) came in fourth. Wheaton (133) came in fifth, followed by Emerson (192) and Clark (202).
Reynolds finished 14th, crossing the finish line at 25:54. Graduate Student Ben Steeves (Hollis, ME) finished 17th (26:12), classmate Logan Gaudette (Holden, MA) 22nd (26:37), and senior Andrew Yatsuhashi (Reading, MA) 23rd (26:46).
Sophomore Jarrett Gulden (Walpole, ME) crossed the finish line at 26:50 to finish 27th, and freshman Ryan Fischer (Merrimack, NH) was a second behind to finish 28th. Junior Brian Brooks (Brewster, MA) finished 29th, sophomore Avinash Bissoondial (Millbury, MA) 34th, sophomore Matthew McAlarney (Lexington, MA) finished 35th, senior Alex Simoneau 38th, freshman Thomas Flanagan (Needham, MA) 39th, senior Blake Audibert (Milford, NH) 43rd, senior Owen Lally (Lebanon, CT) 46th, sophomore Robert Doyle (Bethel, CT) 48th, and sophomore Connor Gaudette (Holden, MA) 50th, to round out the WPI runners in the Top 50.
Also for WPI, freshman Sean Corman (Waterford, CT) was 52nd, junior Matt Reynolds (Andover, NH), 53rd, freshman Brendan May (Rutland, MA) 54th, freshman Jack King (Princeton, MA) 57th, junior Ryan Weeks (Cantonsville, MD) 68th, and sophomore Jack Robertson (Uxbridge, MA) 69th.
